It’s not just the bees that work industriously to produce honey. John and Jill Trewartha do their fair share to provide a myriad of blossomed-flavoured honey, candied and creamed honey, honeycomb, beeswax and beeswax candles from their Aldinga Beach property, right next to the Aldinga scrub.
The hives are placed in orange groves and stands of blue gum, mangrove, red gum and almond orchards. Fruit orchards provide great blossom for the bees to gather honey and the bees then act as pollinators to ensure the next crop of fruit.
Do Bee Honey is produced using a cold extraction process to maintain vitamins and minerals, an extension of the Trewartha’s value for money ethos.
A new delight is Do Bee Honey’s naturally candied honey that is whipped with cinnamon, vanilla bean or lemon myrtle. This product is fast becoming a favourite amongst Market shoppers.
Do Bee Honey beeswax is also popular as a base for body butters, lip balms and other cosmetic products.
Their fresh honeycomb is available seasonally (Spring to Autumn) and is a huge favourite with children.
The Trewartha’s grow no-spray fruits on their property such as figs, rhubarb and apples, and excess fruit is sold from their stall.
Do Bee Honey products are also sold at the Willunga Farmers Market, the Stirling Market and at the farm gate to ensure quality control and to provide information to customers who are encouraged to taste the honey at the Markets.
