The ASFM is a showcase for fresh, regional and seasonal produce where farmers and producers sell their goods direct to consumers.

At farmer's markets, producers maximise their profit margins by selling direct and receive instant feedback from customers about product quality and preferences. Farmer's markets breathe new life into the areas in which they operate. Many local businesses open or extend their hours as a direct result of having a farmer's market in their area, often presenting opportunities for boosting local employment.
