Eat: Warming winter foods
Winter is all about comfort food. Caulies and broccoli are some of the best vegies available now and you’ll find some super stuff at the Market.
A good old fashioned favourite is cauliflower cheese. Smother some steamed cauliflower with cheese sauce and grated cheese on top. Let it melt and get a lovely golden colour in the oven.
The fancy pants name for this method of cooking cauliflower is gratin. Gratin is simply a french word that translates as golden crisp and crusty.

Plant: Bare-rooted deciduous fruit trees, citrus, winter greens, peas, beans, herbs and strawberries
In winter deciduous fruit trees are leafless and dormant and it’s a good time to buy them. Plant apple, pear, plum, apricot, peach, cherry and nectarine trees now.
Nothing tastes better than ripe fruit from your own tree! Prepare the hole well and if you’d like some cow poo talk to Najobe Park Beef.
